News For Young Voices

We are delighted to announce that we have some very special guests singing with us this year.

 

The very talented vocals of Natalie Williams will be joining the YV choirs. Natalie is one of the UK’s most loved soul/jazz singers. Natalie’s residency, Soul Family Sundays, at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club has been selling out every month for the past decade and we can’t wait for you to see why!

Also joining us is the amazing singer songwriter Sharlene Hector who will be replacing Natalie Williams for two dates, the 6th and 7th February, Sharlene is also part of the Soul Family Sunday at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.

Next up is Irish rocker, Tabby Callaghan. Tabby came 3^rd in the very first series of the X-factor and is proud to have rubbed shoulders with Rock ‘n’ Roll royalty, including the Osbournes. This year he will be bringing his own brand of rock to Young Voices and has even penned an exclusive track called 'Lost for a Day', to sing with our YV choir. You will be able to download the live version of 'Lost for a Day' via the YV App. At the end of the YV concert tour the single will be released and available to download from iTunes. All proceeds from the single will be going to YV's chosen charity partner, Nordoff Robbins.

Finally we welcome back the awesome Beatbox Collective. After last year’s incredible performance with Young Voices, where they created the world’s largest beatbox battle, of course we had to invite them back. Over the past year they’ve performed at many shows and festivals such as Glastonbury as well as having rave reviews from their Edinburgh Fringe show.

As with all other clubs Choir has also finished for this term. Everyone will have a CD with all the songs on by the end of this week so you can practise over the Christmas holidays.

Young Voices

Dear Parents/carers

Your child has recently joined the school choir as you may be are aware the choir will be venturing to Sheffield arena soon, were we have the amazing opportunity to join other choirs in Yorkshire to be part of the largest children’s concert series in the world. For the last 7 years we have had a fabulous day and we are looking forward to repeating the experience at Sheffield arena on 20^th January 2016

In order to confirm numbers we require your permission for your child to take part. The concert is an afternoon rehearsal for teachers and children (we will arrive at Sheffield by 1:15pm) and evening performance for parents (tickets can be purchased at a later date – letter to follow.) We will supply the coach to transport the children to the concert in the afternoon for a small contribution fee of £5 but you will be required to collect your child from Sheffield Arena after the concert has finished (approximately 9:30pm.)

Please sign the permission slip on your order form for your child and please state who will be collecting your child. Permission slips are due in by Friday 2^nd October  as we have to confirm numbers with the arena. T-shirts are not compulsory neither are tickets however parents/carers are required to collect children after the concert.

Letters will follow shortly with more details of times, coach arrangements ect…If you have any questions before then please contact us at school.

Your child is still welcome to come to choir club and learn the songs even if they do not wish to attend Young Voices
